Medieval Kingdoms: Shogunate
Have you ever wanted to turn RimWorld into an immersive and realistic medieval world? I certainly did — and the Medieval Kingdoms series is the result of that pursuit. In this series, my goal is to represent medieval kingdoms and empires as historically accurate as possible.
Medieval Kingdoms: Shogunate add 4 new factions inspired by the clans from Shogun II: Total War. In this mod, you will find new unit types, a unique Japanese culture, 4 custom religions— all designed and illustrated based on authentic historical depictions.
Initially, I planned this series as a submod for Medieval Overhaul. However, I realized that some players might prefer adding these mods into their general playthroughs, so I optimized it to remove the dependency on Medieval Overhaul. For the best possible medieval experience, I still recommend using it alongside Medieval Overhaul, Tabula Rasa (required for custom religion icons), and GiddyUp (required for cavalry units).
I’m a very inexperienced developer, and this is my first mod series. Although I’ve tested it through many hours of gameplay, I’m sure there may still be bugs. I’d really appreciate it if you could share your suggestions for this and future projects, as well as any issues you encounter during your own playthrough.
