Tetrismancer — Tetromino Psycaster

A full content mod for Vanilla Psycasts Expanded.

Step into the role of the Tetromancer — a psycaster who’s figured out how to yank solid matter straight down from the orbital grid in the form of falling tetromino blocks. Mine them for resources, line them up for massive clears, and build a cult that sacrifices prisoners to keep the Void stable.

The Tetromancer Psycast Tree

Eight orbital-drop abilities spread across four tiers. Each one pulls down a uniquely shaped tetromino block that slams into the target area with an explosion, shoves pawns out of the way, and leaves behind a minable chunk.

  • Level 1— Z-Shape (Wood) · Plus-Shape (Steel)
  • Level 2 — L-Shape (Components) · J-Shape (Silver)
  • Level 3 — O-Shape (Gold) · S-Shape (Jade)
  • Level 4 — I-Shape (Plasteel) · T-Shape (Uranium) ← requires both Level 3 nodes

Psyfocus and entropy costs increase with tier. The Level 4 abilities are expensive — they eat 66% psyfocus and generate 100 entropy.

How the Blocks Work

  • Rotate before dropping — Hit Q or E while aiming to spin the block. A ghost preview shows exactly where everything will land.
  • 60-tile range, no line of sight needed.
  • Impact explosion — The blast radius and damage depend on the material. Wood is pretty tame… Uranium? Not so much. Buildings are safe from the blast so your other blocks don’t get wrecked.
  • Crushes terrain — Anything in the landing cells (walls, structures, plants) gets smashed. Pawns get shoved aside; if they have nowhere to go, they eat the full hit.
  • Mine the chunk afterward to harvest the resources. Yield matches the block’s material.

Line Clears

Fill a complete horizontal row with 10 or more Tetris chunks and it clears automatically:

  • The classic line-clear sound plays
  • Each cleared block drops 150% of its normal resource yield (configurable)
  • Lightning strikes every position in the row
  • All chunks are destroyed and the ground beneath turns into Void Floor — a permanent corrupted scar on the map

The Void Stabilizers — Ideology & Ritual

Comes with a full custom ideology meme called Void Stabilizers, complete with its own precepts, flavor text, and fun procedural names (Voidism, Compressionalism, Gridmind, etc.).

The centerpiece is the Tetris Academy Altar — a 3×2 steel-and-components altar that glows red. It supports the Tetris style category with custom visuals, ritual music, and glitch effects during ceremonies. Place Ritual Processor buildings nearby to boost quality.

Pajitnov Patch Ritual — Sacrifice up to three prisoners to the orbital grid. A colonist performs neural extraction at the altar, uploading their mind into the Void. The victim gets Neural Extraction Syndrome (a four-stage terminal hediff) and dies within about a day.

On success, nearby Void Floor tiles are converted into Compressed Memory terrain. More prisoners = more tiles sealed. Spectacular rituals seal even more. A random tetromino block also drops somewhere on the map as a bonus. No cooldown.

Pascal & IBM Teleporter Network

Two buildable structures that work together for teleportation:

  • Pascal Data-Entry Terminal — Walk a colonist onto it and they get serialized and beamed away. Consumes one Power Cube per use. Only one per map. Explodes if destroyed.
  • IBM Reconstruction Mainframe — The receiving end. Rebuilds the colonist with a flashy psycast effect and a short Candy Glitch Syndrome debuff.
  • Power Cubes — Salvaged from deconstructed Tetris chunks. Stack up to 75.

Both buildings have active/inactive graphics and ambient sounds when powered.

Mod Settings

  • Tiles sealed on successful ritual (1–20, default 1)
  • Tiles sealed on spectacular ritual (1–40, default 5)
  • Tetrification channel duration (60–600 ticks, default 180)
  • Line clear yield multiplier (0–5×, default 1.5×)

To-Do / Known Limitations

Latest update includes a bunch of new stuff :)

3 new psycast classes - WIP but they work and are somewhat useful - and abit funny.

the arcade machine and 6 various game discs
the discs with games you can play are currently Tetris, Galaga, Asteroids, Space invaders, Donkey Kong and Pacman.

The last two involve alot of coding and fine-tuning, but they can be tested.

Settings for the mod is available and if you scroll down in the donkey kong settings youll find a level editor.

Supports only up to 20 lines per level - else it breaks.

  • Impact zone warning graphic (pre-landing indicator) — still in progress
  • Terrain destruction toggle — not yet in settings
