Caves of Qud Cybernetics Tier 1.5 is an add-on for COQ Cybernetics Tier 1 that expands the mod with a small collection of new cybernetics inspired by popular Caves of Qud modded content.
This add-on includes new craftable implants, new Qud-inspired creatures, and the True Kin ideology meme for colonies that want to lean harder into old-world human purity. It also adds its own research path under the COQ cybernetics tree.
Requires DBC Framework and Caves of Qud Cybernetics Tier 1.
Tier 1.5 adds the Enigma Snail, a strange but loveable Qud creature that can appear in caves, fungal places, and other fitting environments. Its bite can leave pawns Perplexed, dulling their ability to fight back and sometimes pushing them into a dazed state.
There is also a special Enigma Snail visitor event. If left alone, the visitor may leave the colony with a small blessing, a small curse, a strange mental disturbance, or something quietly symbolic. If killed... Let's just say its best to keep your colony doors closed for awhile.
This creature was added as a small thank-you to a Ko-fi supporter who helped encourage the creation of this mod. Their support bought me a warm meal, lifted my spirits, and helped push me deeper into modding.
Also: be wary around palm trees. Some things in Qud look harmless until you stand too close.
Tier 1.5 adds the True Kin ideology meme, built around reverence for the old human lineage and suspicion toward anything outside it. Colonies with this meme place special value on baseliner purity, viewing non-baseliner xenotypes as a threat, an insult, or something to be disposed of.
This meme is meant for harsh, supremacist, old-world style colonies. It pairs well with authoritarian, isolationist, slaver, raider, or purity-focused ideologies, especially if you want a colony that sees itself as the last rightful inheritor of humanity.
The meme requires Ideology and Biotech. Without those DLCs, the rest of the mod will still function, but the True Kin content will not appear.
Tier 1.5 adds a curated set of cybernetics inspired by Sundry Cybernetics for Caves of Qud by MAFT. I picked implants that felt like they belonged between Tier 1 and a future Tier 2: stronger, stranger, and more specialized than the first batch, but not yet colony-breaking old-world miracles.
These cybernetics are unlocked through the new Tier 1.5 Cybernetics research project in the COQ research tree. Once researched, they can be crafted at the Fabrication Bench.
