This is a framework mod where I have defined that RimWorld food should possess eight flavors: Sour, Sweet, Bitter, Spicy, Salty, Umami, Astringent, and Mild. This framework adds exclusive flavor attributes to all vanilla foods. Through cold mixing (eating raw), cooking station preparation, or campfire processing, the flavor ratios of every ingredient will change. Based on the percentage sum of all ingredient flavor intensities (not exceeding 100%), any flavor exceeding 20% becomes a primary flavor, while Spicy requires only 10%. If no primary flavor exceeds 20% or Spicy does not exceed 10%, the food is displayed as Mild.
The mod assigns 3 or fewer flavor preferences (likes or dislikes) to each generated pawn. Additionally, there are the Gourmet (who likes all flavors) and the Taste Blind (who cannot taste anything). Cooking food that suits the colonists' tastes is a challenge. (Special Mechanic: Do not feed spicy food to colonists who dislike Spicy flavor, as Spicy is a sensation of pain and will have severe consequences).
Every race has its own preferred flavors; for example, ♥♥♥♥ sapiens prefer Sweet and Umami flavors and dislike Bitter and Astringent foods. The mod does not add exclusive flavor traits to races and defaults to the ♥♥♥♥ sapiens race. Character flavor preference traits take priority over racial flavor preferences.
This mod primarily serves the "Food Basket Project - Five Grains Abundance" mod, but it also possesses huge potential. All mod authors are welcome to use this framework to create their own mods.
