Have you ever yearned for the sea? Have you ever wished you could brave the waves and make your fortune out in the endless blue? Then this little fella is for you!
Introducing the Pelican: a 13-meter fishing trawler designed to never let you down. This diesel-electric hybrid can switch between using the main diesel engine for long-range travel and trawling, and the electric engine for applications that require a little bit more finesse. Everything aboard this vessel is designed to be operable by a single person in any weather conditions, with everything you may possibly need in the bowels of the ship being accessible from the cabin and all external machinery (mainly the net) being operable from inside the wheelhouse.
Included features:
- Course hold to waypoint and orientation discrepancy indicator, to help you figure out where you need to go and get there more easily. To enable course correction simply press the "hold course" button above the helm and override it simply by steering.
- Solar panels ensure that even if fuel runs dry, this diesel-electric hybrid will always get you where you need to be.
- Bow thruster to allow turning even at a standstill and enable more precise maneuvering.
- Fully accessible interiors let you stay safe and cozy or perform maintennance without risking a fall overboard.
- Helm-centered controlls ensure all functions are available without the need to brave the outside.
- Bottom-heavy construction and automatic stabilisation ensures the ship can outlast any storm. As long as you keep all doors shut, the Pelican will always right itself even if flipped completely upside-down.
- Automated navigation lights avoid wasting power, by turning on at night and during heavy fog and rain, only remaining active when they're needed and when you want them to be.
Intended features.
- Automated bilge pumps to buy you time, should things ever go wrong. If things get too bad, you can always turn them off to conserve power until all repairs are done and the Pelican is ready to rise back from the depths.
- Collision warning and avoidance is certainly necessary to warn you if the ship is ever about to beach itself or even halt should the player be unable to intervene in time.
Designed specifically to fit in the small dock at the career starter base.
Top speed: 14.5 knots
