This workshop item contains two vanilla door variants that you can save as item assemblies. You can see more information below.
Features
- All versions come with integrated buttons and physical button operation.
- 4 different door modes to suit any crew’s preferences.
- Compact and ready to be dragged-and-dropped into your submarine.
- All non-interactable components come pre-hidden and locked.
- There are windowed and non-windowed versions.
Modes
Each door has 4 modes. The modes are the same regardless of which door you use. You can change a door’s current mode by interacting with the switches/buttons (depending on which version you choose to use) located towards the top and bottom of the door. When the top switch is off the buttons are disabled, and when the bottom switch is off motion detection is disabled. You can see the four states below (TOP/BOTTOM):
- Mode 1 (ON/ON): The door can be button-controlled and closes when you move away.
- Mode 2 (ON/OFF): The door is fully button-controlled.
- Mode 3 (OFF/ON): The door is fully motion-controlled.
- Mode 4 (OFF/OFF): The door is locked in its current position.
If you are coming here from the Tadpole, please note that the states are different in these doors. I hoped to make the indicators more intuitive.
The button-swap variants have buttons to change the door's mode on either side of the door, while the switch-swap variants only have switches on one side of the door.
You can see a demonstration of how the button-swap door works below.
The button version of the door has 55 components and 6 lights, while the switch version has 31 components and 6 lights. Light components have been added to each version where the addition of them would add clarity for players (for example, to indicate whether a button is usable in the current mode), but these are optional and can be removed without affecting the functionality of the doors.
If you publish a submarine on the Steam Workshop using one of these doors, please give me credit in the workshop item’s description.
