Security
To ensure the safety of the crew and ship's systems, most areas require clearance depending on which workers should be where on the ship. This way the captain can guarantee the only people tampering with the reactor are the ones certified to do so.
Survery Shuttle
The civilian models are commonly used for long distance exploration despite previously being designed as attack vessels. The more recently refurbished ones were fitted with a shuttle dock to make exploration easier in places where the ship can't reach.
Silent Running
An old feature from their days as an attack vessel. While it won't really be used for sneaking up on enemy ships it could definitely help in a pinch.
