After loading cargo that consisted of a single gangway plank, the Austrian departed on her final and maiden voyage. Passengers were given a tour by her Captain Mr. XL, soon after he went down to check the engine rooms, which were being run perfectly by the crew. Captain XL then went to have dinner with his passengers, when entering the dining room he snapped a photo of water pouring through the skylight. Seconds after this a stoker ran up to the captain and told him there was damage to the hull. The cry to evacuate followed. The Austrian went down in two minutes. All lives were saved due to a tugboat coming to rescue them. The inquiry held afterwards in the SMH Discord Server declared the ship sank because of it being un-seaworthy. The court said the crew members did everything they could to save her such as, shut off the boilers and close the doors, the court said the crew was not at fault for the disaster.
