Did you know that...

  • The Geothermal Generator (GG) occupies just 33% of the area/clearance needed for a Wind Turbine?
  • GG reliably produces 3600W of power compared to the Wind Turbine's MAXIMUM output of 3450W (average output of 1725W assuming a linear probability of wind)?
  • GG costs just 90 Steel more than a Wind Turbine + 3 vanilla Batteries, despite having a component maintenance cost over time of only 25% compared with the Wind Turbine + Battery setup?
  • GG doesn't require batteries because its power output is pretty much constant, so there are no risks of random catastrophic explosions or charge losses?
  • 100% power generated by the GG (3600W) is used in contrast to a Wind Turbine + Batteries setup's 862.5W (1725W Wind turbine output on average * 50% due to battery efficiency).
  • All maps except for Sea Ice spawn with about 4-6 geothermal vents in vanilla?

If your answer is yes, there is a possibility that the Geothermal Generator is a bit OP. This mod aims to address this possible issue.

Description

Nerfs the Geothermal Generator's power output to 2000W compared to vanilla's 3600W output. That's still 100% more output than a Vanometric Power Cell (reward-only) or a Ship Reactor (extremely expensive, bulky and late-game).

Comment section was disabled because of a handful of people unable to provide constructive criticism. Not only they won't use the mod, but will also whine about how they are personally offended by the existence of this mod.

This just patches a value in the Geothermal Generator.

And yes, it should work with Combat Extended.
