SD Specialty Subs

Sky Daddy Shipyards brings you a set of completely vanilla submarines - with some designed for specific missions!

General features include:
- Efficient drainage. Less pumps, less energy, lots of duct block usage.
- Efficient reactor controller on each sub!
- Top and bottom airlocks, with depth readouts.
- Extra readouts and controls in the Command Room / Bridge, as well as the reactor status monitor.
- SMART DOORS: under normal circumstances, most doors (except ballast access) are automatic, but when there's water detected in any given room, it will switch to its default manual-open state. The only exception is the Greenhorn, which has its smart doors controlled via a switch next to the Nav Terminal. Any door in its manual state will have flashing orange lights.
- A simple, Typhon-like junction box loop with batteries that only charge when they are off.
- Decentralized diving suit lockers, often without their own tank refillers to incentivize using the oxygenerator itself or large refiller stations for tanks. Any of the lockers located further away from the oxygenerator will have their own tank refillers, though.
- Depth Charge loading is usually near fabricators so they can easily be dumped in when made instead of carried across the entire ship.
- Most subs have "quick medical" cabinets near the airlocks loaded with morphine and calyxanide for swift application after bad encounters.
- Storage cabinets are customized with essentials, engineering area cabinets often have a screwdriver/wrench as well.
- Arrows showing locations for gun emplacements on periscopes. Color-coded as follows: Blue (Coilguns), Yellow (Chaingun), Green (Flak Cannon), Red (Laser), White (Railgun). Some periscopes can control two guns, just move the aiming cursor to the middle-up/down to shift between them.
- Every sub has an intentional weakness or two!

Current Model List:

GREENHORN SD1 - Beginner-friendly Tier I Attack sub based on the Barsuk with better QOL features. Top and bottom airlock, only four pumps, lots of labels. The coilguns use only one periscope, and as mentioned before, the smart doors are controlled by a switch by the Nav Terminal instead of being hooked into the water detectors.

JEIPATZ SD2 - Tier II Transport with escort/prisoner missions in mind. The "passenger accommodations" are in the very center of the sub and the door is locked by default, with the switch next to the Nav terminal

ORANGEBOTTLE SD2 - Tier II Transport designed for basic mining and fabrication. It's basically a modified Jeipatz, but lightly armed in exchange for a little more mobility.

NINEBALL SD3 - Tier III Attack sub, compact and heavily-armed, designed for abyssal creature encounters. The two railguns and the laser/flak cannon are controlled by single periscopes. The ship is also tough and fast, but bear in mind that the twin engines are very power-hungry.

GRATITUDE SD3 - Tier III Transport sub, a Berilia-like cargo dreadnought with some Kastrull characteristics. Tons of cargo capacity, decently armed, lockable guest accommodations, a research station, a greenery, and even a remotely-controlled drone that functions as a detachable chaingun and emergency airlock.
