The Mondgeist series is the first general-use Scout sub line developed at Sky Daddy Shipyards.
General features include:
- Efficient drainage. Less pumps, less energy, lots of duct block usage.
- Efficient reactor controller.
- Top and bottom airlocks, with depth readouts.
- Extra readouts and controls in the Command Room / Bridge, as well as the reactor status monitor.
- SMART DOORS: under normal circumstances, most doors (except ballast access) are automatic, but when there's water detected in any given room, it will switch to its default manual-open state. Any door in its manual state will have flashing orange lights.
- A simple, Typhon-like junction box loop with batteries that only charge when they are off.
- Decentralized diving suit lockers, often without their own tank refillers to incentivize using the oxygenerator itself or large refiller stations for tanks. Any of the lockers located further away from the oxygenerator will have their own tank refillers, though.
- Depth Charge loading is near fabricators so they can easily be dumped in when made instead of carried across the entire ship.
- "Quick medical" cabinets near the airlocks loaded with morphine and calyxanide for swift application after bad encounters.
- Storage cabinets are customized with essentials, engineering area cabinets often have a screwdriver/wrench as well.
- Arrows showing locations for gun emplacements on periscopes. Color-coded as follows: Blue (Coilguns), Yellow (Chaingun), Green (Flak Cannon), Red (Laser), White (Railgun).
- NORMAL mode: with both option switches off, the Mondgeist is in its basic setting. In this default mode, everything is operational except the Auxiliary Engine on the SD2/SD3, which remains offline during normal operation.
MONDGEIST SD1 includes:
- SPECTRE mode: Total stealth! This silent running setting shuts down the reactor, the oxygenerator, the main engine, and the all exterior lights except for the nose-mounted gun emplacement, which has a manual light switch for total darkness if desired. All propulsion is done via the Auxiliary Engine, which is derated to 20%. Make sure the batteries are fully charged and running!!
- Fabricator and Medical Fabricator included.
- Three-unit battery bank.
- 7x diving suit lockers.
- 2x Coilguns, 1x Laser.
- 2x Discharge Coils, one protecting the bottom/aft and one protecting the top/fore.
MONDGEIST SD2 includes:
- Everything the SD1 has.
- Second (main) engine added. The SD1's old engine remains, but is now the Auxiliary Engine.
- SPECTRE mode's engine settings change: Main engine is shut down, Aux Engine is activated but derated to 20%.
- BANSHEE mode added: Run and gun! With this mode enabled, both engines are on and at full power. The oxygenerator is shut down to conserve energy, but it's still highly advised to run the batteries as the engines take up a lot of juice!
- A little bit of cargo capacity. Nowhere near as much as a Transport sub, but enough to make a little extra money if a cargo mission is available.
- More storage cabinets.
- Turrets upgraded. The Coilguns are now a Chaingun and Double Coilgun, and the Laser is now a Railgun.
- Deconstructor added.
- Fourth battery unit added.
- Second supercapacitor added.
- Two more diving suit lockers, now a total of 9.
- Gunnery Storage room added. Medbay relocated and expanded.
- Reactor/engine/hull performance upgraded.
MONDGEIST SD3 includes:
- Everything the SD1/SD2 has.
- Fourth turret replaces the top/fore discharge coil: a Coilgun.
- Remaining bottom/aft discharge coil is upgraded, but at a higher energy cost.
- Research Station added.
- One more diving suit locker, now a total of 10.
- Second cargo unit load device added.
- Reactor/engine/hull/supercapacitor performance further upgraded.
