Originally manufactured by Archsteel Yards, Winterhalter submarines were only in production for a year until they were acquired by the Coalition for research purposes. After extensive testing by Coaliton affiliated crews the original design was deemed unsuitable for the BAROTRAUMATIC conditions in deeper european frontiers. With upcoming rumors about a second colonisation phase RSY hastely aquired and refitted several Winterhalter shipwrecks. With earlier variants suffering frequent malfunctions due to heavy stress on the submarines reworked hull, espescially on the new Shuttle port.
To cope with the demands of longer deep sea voyages in the highly contested waters of Europa, storage spaces and weaponary has been incresed to a point, wehere almost no submarine space is unused. With cramped conditions all the way to the new shuttle, Medical and research has ben placed into the shuttle alongside the kitchen to fullfill all of the crews NEEDS, even when suffering under NEUROTRAUMA.
(This Submarine was made for a challange run with friends. The electrical wiring below the Navterminal controls the "shortcomings" of an otherwise fairly strong Sub. If constantly loosing the entire medical wing is not your cup of tea, simply unwire the greater Components or change the constants in the memory components.)
