Lore
"Tufton-1 is a prototype submarine with high emphasis on gunnery, initially created by the Europan Coalition. It, however, did not achieve success due to flaws in its design. This specific instance quite unfortunately sunk on its very first mission. But, as fate would have it, after having lied down for a few months at the bottom of the ocean it was picked up by a group of Jovian Separatists who decided to fix and modernize it. And as such, now Tufton-1 doesn't only have rust and dirt in it, but also some elite ammunition, an automatic reactor, an "overdrive" mode for the engine, 2 deconstructors and a bunch of separatist symbolics splattered all over it."
Specifications
Type: Combat
Tier: 2
Recommended crew: 3-5 people
Price: 12500mk
Armaments: 1 double coilgun, 1 flak cannon, 1 railgun, 1 impulse laser
Features
An automatic reactor (works using components, you need to insert 2 fuel rods and turn it on, but not enable the built-in automatic mode and just leave it as is)
A slow engine, compensated by an overdrive mode (doesn't automatically turn off when in runs out of power, you need to manually press a button on the terminal, there's an indicator to tell you if there's any charge in the supercapacitors or not)
A big deconstruction room with 2 deconstructors and 2 large caninets, all linked together with the deconstructors and the fabricator
2 exits and 2 docks
3 separate ballast hulls, all of which share water at the bottom
A lot of typical submarine things such as a medical fabricator, some ammunition stands, 2 large cargo modules, a hospital bed and bunk beds etc.
Small things such as separatist symbolics and dirt
IMPORTANT!
For the reactor to work properly in automatic mode you need to change the value in the memory component whenever you upgrade the maximum output. The value in this component should be the output value of the reactor devided by 100. By default the output value is 5200, meaning the default value for the memory component is 52, but with upgrades and engineer talents this will change. The component itself can be found on the floor between the reactor and the cabinet with engineering equipment. Keep this in mind.
Afterword
Tufton-1 is my first fully original sub and as such its quality needs to be tested. I've not run any campaigns yet, but I certainly plan on doing it in the future. Once I do I will update and expand the submarine where needed.
