How It Works

System arming
When the connector is first attached, the system becomes armed but does not move the winch. This prevents accidental deployment.

Automatic deployment
When the connector is released, the system measures the distance to the ground and stores that value. The winch then begins reeling out automatically.

Ground-aware stopping
As the rope deploys, the system continuously monitors the rope length. Once the rope length reaches the previously measured ground distance, the winch stops automatically. This prevents over-deployment and ground collision.

Automatic retrieval
When the connector is reattached, the winch immediately begins reeling in the rope.

Reset and repeat
Disconnecting again after retrieval resets the system, allowing the deployment cycle to be repeated as many times as needed.
