HISTORY
The S.S Huntress, built at Scheepsbouw Maatschappij. Was a three funnel luxurious Ocean liner designed for the Nederland Australië Line for the late pre war era.
She was laid down in 1912 And was a direct competitor of the Belgenland. She was originally designed with 12 Double ended coal fired boilers. But was late switched to a revolutionary (for the time) 4 Oil fired boilers. This allowed for better fuel economy and more steam production.
She was finished in early 1914 And was allowed to begin service on her Rotterdam - New York. At the outbreak of WW1 The Australian Liner was registered under the Dutch. This was done so that she could keep making profit for the company while Australia was at war with Germany, but Netherlands and America were neutral. When America joined WW1 she was taken off her New York route and laid up until 1918. After the war she shined in Ocean travel and took passengers all over the world. Early WW2 She was going to be sent on more runs until she was scrapped over the threat of the German invasion of the Netherlands.
HOW TO USE
1. Ignite the boilers (key on front)
2. Open the Oil valves (on the side of the boiler closet to the sides of the hull)
3. Go to the engine control room behind the turbines and wait until pressure builds, once its built to max open the steam throttle valves
4. Use the telegraph for throttle (Automatic change allows the bridge to change orders without needing people in the engine room.
You can find all the deck's light switches in the Electrical room in front of the Turbine on deck D
