About SAT:
Sawyer Arktic Transport or SAT (fictional) was a company founded in 1934, as inportant resources were found in the arktic region of Sawyer isles. Many companies were trying take over the resource trade in the arktic. As years were passing by, SAT became very succesful. Their ships were sailing to and from the arktic region with very little incidents.
About MV SAT Favorite:
MV SAT Favorite was a container ship built in 1988. It was a modern container ship capable of carrying 24 containers. It was sailing between BVG Logistic Depot, and Terminal Camodo. It´s career was unremarkable until 24th May 2000, when a terrible disaster struck the Arktic region: a series of tectonic events caoused Mount Paradize volcano to erupt. The entire region was covered with thick fog (volcanic ash), but that was only the begining. The tectonic activity caused several massive waves to form. MV SAT Favorite was approaching BVG Logistic Depot when the first reports of the waves arrived. The captain knew that he can´t dock his ship, as the waves would cause the ship to hit the dock, so he decided to anchor nearby. The crew was scanning the ocean for any sight of the wasves, but they couldn´t see wery far because of the fog. At 3.21 pm the first wave was spotted, and it hit the ships side. The captain underestimated the power of the wave, and it pushed the ship towards the rocky shore of the island. After hitting the shore the ship was pulled off the rocks by the wave, and begun rapidly listing to starboard, and leaking fuel. SAT Favorite´s captain ordered the ship to be evacuated, as he thought the ship was unsavable. MV SAT Favorite settled on It´s side in the shallow water just a few meters away from BVG Logistic Depot´s shores. The clean up of the leaking fuel was problematic due to the continuing tectonic events that day. Once the situation was under controll the damage was assessed, and it was determined that the ship cannot be refloated, but instead it had to be scrapped on the spot. The captain was blamed for the incident because he underestimated the power of the wave, which caused the ship to hit the island. MV SAT Favorite was not the only victim of that days events, several other ships (mainly fishing boats) were sunk that day. MV SAT Favorite was scrapped in 2001.
