SK Fallout: Chinese Remnant (Discontinued)

Due to the Fallout Collaboration Project I'm going to cease support for my Fallout mods, I made these mostly for my personal enjoyment and the FCP is just superior in every way possible. I want to thank everyone that downloaded or endorsed my fallout mods, it meant a lot to me. I give full permission to update or continue this mod to anyone that wants to, just give credit.

The ghoulified Chinese Remnant has come to the rimworlds! Dependent on the "Fallout Races: Playable Ghoul" and the "Humanoid AlienRaces 2.0" framework. Patched for Camouflage and Stealth to give functional stealth to stealth suits!

JUN 21:

- Added custom settlement names.

Generally covert military bases, wrecked ships and pre-war POW camps and buisness fronts still inhabited by remnant forces.

- Added custom pawn names. Now they are actually Chinese!

- 265 First Names

- 261 Last Names

Hope that's enough variety for ya. Names follow traditional Chinese naming convention so names start with their family name followed by their first name. Nicknames are translated via google so I'm not 100% sure on their authenticity, I don't know any Chinese speaking people so if you can please provide feedback on them and I will try to change it. I really want authentic names and to be respectful with the language.

Content:

- Faction

Ghoulish faction full of hardend pre-war chinese veterans. Lightly armored but very experienced and toughened through the centuries in the wasteland. They use high damage weapons and their deadly stealth operatives utilise cutting edge stealth technology to gain an edge. (NEW) Will also attack with deadly exploding spider drones.

(NEW) Also includes a new player faction and potentially rather hard scenario. Not naked brutality but still a challenge.

- Chinese Stealth Suit

- A special Stealth Suit that If you have "Camouflage and Stealth" uses active camouflage. Weaker protection wise than a recon armor set but makes up that in stealth capability. Stealth functions require this: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2019776293

- Chinese Jumpsuit

Hardy Uniform for a hardy comrade

- Chinese Officer Hat

Hat for the stern and imposing comrade

- Chinese Ushanka

Hat for the comrade fighting in Alaska.

Weapons

- Chinese Assault Rifle (with a bayonet version)

Cheaper, less accurate yet more powerful per shot. The bayonet version transform the wielder into a deadly melee fighter.

Autopistol with burst fire

- Chinese Officer Sword

Faster long sword

(NEW) Spider drones!

Essentially a fast and tiny drone that attacks your colonists and blows up when destroyed. A sort of "first wave" that the rest of the attacking force rely on for success.

(NEW) Chinese SMG

Based of the Swedish "Kulsprutepistol m/45 Carl Gustaf", it's a cheap reliable infantry weapon used pre-war by Chinese border patrols and special police units.

(NEW) Chinese Sniper Rifle

Reliable and cheap Chinese sniper rifle. Based of the real life SVD and the "Type 79 Sniper Rifle" Mod for Fallout 3 by Werne.

(NEW) Chinese Battle Rifle

A very cheap firearm using only simple materials and no components in it's construction. The cheapest frontline weapon in the Remnant's arsenal. Based of the real world Soviet "SKS" Rifle. Includes a built in Bayonet.

(NEW) Body Armor Set - A Chinese flak vest and helmet. Made to protect the wearer on the frontlines. Quite cheap and easy to make at the cost of some protective quality.

(NEW) Chinese Army Cap - A simple, yet stylish army cap that helps keep the sun at bay. Improves social impact.

Planned Changes:

With the JUN 8'th update out I feel like I'm done with this faction. I will most likely resume modding after a brief hiatus due to personal reasons, I will still support this mod and my other two published mods if issues arise. I will finally do a playthrough with this now and come back with a proper balance patch as the last thing I'l do on this project in the "near-ish" future. Please provide feedback if you feel like something needs balancing!

Be on the lookout for my upcoming Fallout mods, cuz I'm doing more (no matter how terrible my artwork is lol)

- More weapons and clothing variety. (DONE)

- More Backstories

There are quite a few custom backstories and I'm mostly happy with them. However as my gran always said; "the more the merrier!"

- Non Ghoul dependancy/Human version

Might sound simple enough but all the backstories and descriptions wouldn't make any sense without the context of them being ghouls. I'll probably make it conditional on wether the Ghouls mod is installed or not. The faction is also tagged to generate pawns that are aged 200+ years old so I would need to make a bit more of an involved patch than just changing the race.

- Spider drones! like seen in the Anchorage DLC. (DONE)

- Faction rebalance.

I would love player input on this because I made a totally theoretical balance job and tested them against other factions to see how they'd do. It "works" but I don't know if it's fully my "vision" of the faction. It works well enough for now but eventually a rebalance is in order. If the faction description I provided earlier dosen't fit in some way please report it in the balace discussion I'm opening below.

- "Jank" fixes (DONE?)

- My own Ghoul Race, Might take awhile since I've never made one myself. Working on it!
