MVW Avis Maris | L16 Conway Inspired Seaplane
Presenting the MVW: Avis Maris. An L16 Conway inspired build from the 90's cartoon series "TaleSpin".
Nicknamed "Karnage's Unicorn" as the main villian Don Karnage, could never get his hands on this elusive plane.
Vanilla built with a touch of XML weight reduction in key spots.
While spawnable in a large dock like FJ, Spycakes or similar, the Coastguard Island dock, in the last picture, is not ideal but the hanger sure is!!
Features:
- Open cabin design with simplified controls layout.
- Space for 4 UniCon containers.
- Self loading winch system with RC option.
- Water & runway capable.
- Limited Rescue capabilty. (Everything but Med Beds)
- up to 60 Minutes flight time @ 225 Knots.(Full Throttle)
- over 120minutes flight time @ 160 knots cruise speed. (60 to 70% Throttle)
- Reverse option through extra collective lever.
- Ridiculous amounts of power with twin cylinder 5x5's in each boom.
Landing Alarm
- The Landing Alarm is design to alert you to the lack of landing gear & or the park brake being on, during runway landings.
- will be triggered if spawned on land. Drop the landing gear and it will go away.
Operating Proceedures are listed in the plane.
There is an Automatic Flight Assist installed on this plane. It will maintain the last known altitude after releasing the W/S keys. This system can be disabled, at your own risk, by pressing the Gyro Button behind Co-pilot Seat.
Water Takeoff
- Align takeoff vector.
- Increase throttle accordingly & pull back on the stick (S) until airborne.
Water Landing.
- Set throttle as listed on throttle lever.
- Adjust flaps down until gentle descent is achieved. (60 to 70 knots)
Runway Takeoff & Landings
- Same as Water based only wiht less throttle on takeoff.
- Be sure to deploy landing gear prior to landing.
