I designed the escape pod to be as versatile as possible. I know that larger escape vehicles are more space efficient on a person to size ratio, but these designs have a few problems: first of all, they can only fit on very large vehicles, mostly specifically designed to fit on the specific vehicle. Secondly, one hit can disable most of your escape capacity.
This is why I have chosen to go with this small solo pod. It can fit in a small research submarine designed for a single person, on ships, on planes and on spacecraft. If needed, you can add multiple of these next to each other on a vehicle or spaced around the vehicle. This will give you the advantage of having your escape pods spread around to avoid the destruction of all escape pods at once during an emergency.
You might be wondering about the launch speed stats. There is a button on the outside (default ON) which activates QuickLaunch. This will launch the pod in 0.1s but opens the outer hatch before the inner hatch seals completely. This will cause a temporary leak to the outside, bad in spacecraft or in underwater vehicles. I chose to include both launch options, because in an emergency you might need to get away as fast as possible.
