Overview:
Introduced shortly after its machine gun sibling, the Mark IA "Iron Beetle-M" was designed to fulfill a more aggressive assault role. It replaced the frontal machine guns with a short-barrelled 47mm infantry support cannon, capable of demolishing bunkers, enemy armour, and fortified positions.
Though it retained the same chassis and crew layout, this “A” configuration (Assault) proved more versatile, able to engage hardened targets the original model couldn’t touch. It gained fame during the Siege of Drellmar, where several Mark IAs broke through a fortified ridge under heavy fire.
Slightly heavier and slower than the C, it was also known for overheating and required more frequent servicing.
