Krask open trawler (Autotrawl equipped) Updated

Simple trawler with custom build autotrawl (updated 2026) The Ship This trawler is capable of fishing any depth and features a full autotrawl system, semi realistic electric system and more. Its pretty basic, I'm not big on adding a gazillion details to my boats, i go for function over looks. Has a galley, equipment room, cabin, engine room, hopper room and forepeak. Uses all the usual Krask boat systems: Fine pump controls, heading hold, autotrawl, engine ECU and more. The trawling system uses doors and a single net. You have two options for emptying the net: Lift the doors above the hopper or unhook the net anchors and lift like that. If you want an easier trawler to use, use my "Pegasus" boat. Instructions for each method below. The crane (powerblock) at the stern does function, but its not needed. Unique Features

Speed: 40 knots (I know, its not realistic, but stormworks has a huge map and im an adult who doesnt want to spend 6 years travelling from place to place!)
Range: Lots. probably about 120km i cannot say for certain
These nets can fish any depth ranging from 10 to 300.
Multifunction GPS plotter
Realistic-ish design – All internal spaces are accessible, realistic-ish electrics etc
No active stabilization – Pure boat
MOB system that should in most cases declutch the engine if you go overboard. The system is self explanitory.
Generator with emergency start -- You can click the battery breaker to off in the engine room for a more realistic electrics experience. Hydralic deck gear will not work without the generator running.
3 fuel tanks: Port, starboard, service. Engines draw from service only. You will need to manually keep those tanks topped up
6150 hopper capacity (I think, not tested) Theres some other stuff. Its career ready, so has a fire hose, repair torches, the ability to pump fuel in/out, etc.
The throttle By default, push it forward to go and pull it back to reverse. Deadzone is 0.15/-0.15 Find the pink microcontroller in the engine room, click it, disable automatic clutch/reverse if you want to use those buttons. They do not do anything otherwise! The autotrawl Automatically winches in and out to keep the net from touching the seabed, and hold the depth you set. Tries to slow itself down when turning, will not function under 10 knots. Keeps winch lengths syncronised, two displays to give you all the information you need! Startup Procedure Battery on: Go to wheelhouse. Ignition switch on the right dark colored panel. Flip that on, hold starter, go. left dark colored panel is generator, you need that running to use the fishing equipment! Battery off: Go to engine room, start spinning the handle THEN press generator ignition (bottom button) and keep spinning until RPM > 120. Once its running, press other buttons on. You then have the electricity needed to start the main engine (see above) Trawling: Shooting the Gear Trawling is relatively simple.

Ensure Hydraulics are ON.
Press Autodepth
Press set. Insert the depth you want with the keypad. It defaults to 50, and 50 is the minimum. set it to a number higher than 320 if you just want to bottom trawl.
Press haul when you want the net out the water. Slow the boat down until the doors click into place. If they fail to do so, you can use the tiny winch + rope and attach the rope to each door. This will guide the door in.
Transfer the net anchors to the clump in the center of the stern. Only specific thing here is the LARGE RED ANCHOR has to connect to the MEDIUM WINCH on the clump
Disconnect the STARBOARD!!!! storage winch cable, hook it into the starboard side lifting winch. Use the winch controls to navigate the clump over the side. Press clump winches up to lift the net anchors up. Now use the crane to lift it above the hoppers, close the net, dump the fish.
You can lift the doors instead of doing fancy cable work. Connect with a rope each trawl door to the crane. press release doors, turn autonet off, turn autodepth off. manually pay out the trawl winches a bit. Do not!!!!! disconnect the cable on the floor. Winch in with the crane. Rarely the doors can connect into the back of each other: Good luck. Theres a button on the doors to seperate them. This isnt the best way to do this, but it does eliminate the cable mess and it is simpler.
Hauling: Lobster Pots This is the simplest ive made it yet! Hook the bouy into the crane, press "Signal to winch" and the pot will haul itself up. Manouvre it over the hopper, set it down and find the dump button on the pot itself. Putting the pot back in the water is a case of whanging it back over the side and disconnecting the cable, it will automatically refloat the bouy. FAQS Q: The boat won't move! A: Did you turn on the MOB system? Reset the system. Q: The net wont get bigger or leave the trawl doors! A: Turn on autonet. It should be on by default. Q: The trawl system wont do anything A: Start the generator and turn on hydralics. Failing that, ensure Autodepth is switched on. Q: The engine wont rev! A: Its intentional the engine does not rev unless its clutched in. There is an override for this if you really want to rev it up Q: How do i make it sink? A: Idk open some hatches and go nuts. Q: Why no autopilot? A: I just don't find it neccessary. Heading hold is sufficient for me. I can enable it if people annoy me enough, its just a few logic nodes to connect. Q: Whats antistall? A: Restarts the engine if you stall! Q: Im lifting the net, the clump winches wont work! A: The crane must be connected to the middle connector on the clump. Q: Im lifting the net, the net wont close! A: The PORT storage winch has to be connected to the RED connector on the clump. Q: Whats the password for the Fuel Tank? A: same as my other boats: 52 Q: I disconnected the wrong cable and the net anchor dropped! A: Welcome to the world of commercial trawling where things go wrong! Its possible to recover it, good luck! Q: i ran out of fuel! A: Boat has 3 fuel tanks: Port, starboard, Service. The engines draw fuel from the service tank only. You will need to transfer fuel into that tank it is NOT done automatically. I'll try to give credit for the things I can, but theres some stuff on this boat i've ripped from other creations over the last 6 years and I cannot find the original author. The cooker as a basic example is not mine, It came from a different boat. It was so long ago I cannot know who to give credit too, although I will if the OP makes themselves known. I Have not intended to steal anything and present it as my own. The best I can do is tell you that the Krask monitoring system, the entire ship including the hull and engines are my own creation. the ECU running the engine is mine although derived from Zizo's, any LUA screen that is not Krask branded is not mine. Hopefully I've managed to cover just about everything. I'm forgetful!
