Description
The Pycroft SC-6 Triplex is the main fighter aircraft for Grenland. Like its namesake, the Triplex is a triplane, allowing it to turn much faster than its contemporaries, at the cost of speed.
The Triplex is armed with a single machine-gun with 100 rounds to its disposal.

Pycroft SC-6 "Triplex"
Following the advent of facing the latest iteration of Vauhgran fighter aircraft designed to achieve increasingly higher top speeds, the Grenland Royal Air Service was in dire need of a new fighter of their own which could match that of their adversary. While stronger engines -such as those used on their bomber aircraft- were available, they also required more time and resources to produce. Likewise, a stronger engine also required a markedly larger airframe to house it, which would further increase the aircraft's weight and required resources to manufacture. With these concerns in mind, the state-operated Grenland Sky Committee set about drafting a fighter design with enhanced maneuverability characteristics without significantly altering the previously used engine models.
Similar to enemy engineers designing the notorious LK-3 Messer, the Sky Committee came to the conclusion that the solution lay in the aircraft's shape rather than its power plant, more particularly in its wing arrangement. The final resulting design was a triplane which was given the apt designation of the SC-6 Triplex, adopting a compact three-wing configuration which used virtually the same amount of resources to produce as preceding fighters used by the Grenland Royal Air Service. The relatively simple construction of the Triplex allowed for multiple manufacturers -including some in the civilian sector- to fulfill contracts to deliver the aircraft. Additionally, while not as heavily armed or fast as the LK-3, the comparatively lighter construction of the Triplex -coupled by its wing configuration- allowed for faster production times and for more aircraft to be stowed aboard carrier vessels without enlarged hangars. The ability to churn planes out at a faster rate allowed for the Grenland Royal Air service to replenish losses quicker than their Vauhgray counterparts, and field larger flight wings in any fighter engagements.
