A mod to purge the filthy space vegetable disease from existence.
Yes, I'm aware of the fact that you can kill the space vegetable on arrival for the cost of a medium-term penalty to mood for all colonists.
And yes, I'm also aware that you can ban the Wanderer Join Abasia event from ever happening, using scenario editor elements. There is, however, no option to do this once the game has started and you've forgotten to do it.
The principle of this event really annoys me, and Tynan's response to objections to how this event was done is truly sub-par.
Previous events involving space refugees that did NOT have a long-term illness that presented a great liability for the colony did not force you to take them on. You could patch them up or capture them, but otherwise there were no strings attached. Your colonists were neither penalised nor rewarded for ignoring these outlanders.
This event has no such option. There is no player agency to it. You could not ignore them without a penalty. You could not banish them because they could not walk. Your only option is to kill them or take care of them, AFTER they join your colony - inflicting a Colonist Died debuff, and possibly a Killed Colonist social penalty to whoever did the killing (if doing without medicine) or an additional Euthanised Colonist debuff if done with medicine.
You can't even stop your colonists from hauling this pest to a hospital bed if you choose to leave them to die by exposure, because if there's any bed in the base that is in safe temperature, the other colonists will take them there instead of the specially made sleeping spot in the middle of nowhere.
If you, like I am, are tired of having to execute, burn, leave to die by exposure or walling up this self-inviting vegetable from space, use this mod.
To minimise compatibility issues, place this at the very bottom of the load order. If anyone else is modifying the Wanderer Abasia join event, they should go first. If you subscribe to this without Royalty, it will do nothing.
