Why?
Most mining creations are either expensive, slow to move, cumbersome, or a combination of all the former. While some may succeed in a mining only career with 20,000$ starting budget, is it really worth the grind? After all, mining operation start with a loan of some sort, so you can role play into that.
This is not the minimum require, by the way. A modular mining operation designed around the capacity of 2250 coal (10x large hoppers) is quite hefty in terms of size. It's not going to be that profitable (2$/lump for coal), but it's basivcally cost-free. This is intended to jump start your career, granting the necessary savings to finance more expensive diesel (nuclear?) powered operations in the later game.
How?
As soon as you exit the house in Spycakes, you'll find the service vehicle (Saltamartino) and the mining machine (Polifemo). Load the service vehicle on the minig machine and head to Donkk. When the coal hoppers are full, drive the service vehicle back to Spycakes, take the lorry (Stercorario) to the mine, load it, and head back to the station to load the Ore Cars (with the aid of Onisco, the Ore Mover).
Take the train to Camodo and sell the coal one car at a time. Drive back to Spycakes.
Repeat as many times as you cane bear to accumulate wealth and afford something more powerful, or even better: something yours.
When you acheved that, sell one-by-one these vehicles in an appropriately sized workbench (Spycakes will work for all save Polifemo, which needs the hangar in Dreimor), and go on on greater mining adventures!

What's Next?
There is one thing I will try to improve for the next Add-On: speed. Specifically, the rate at whcich coal is passed from a creation to another. Right now, the task is delegated to a single duct: next iteration will see 3 ducts per vehicle (and possibly 3 drills on the next coal miner).
