This is a rebalancing of megahares, since the original mod offered very little benefit over current ride-able animals (namely horses). Megahares had their move speed drastically increased to provide noticeable differences in caravan times and their body size increased so they could haul objects around the colony without becoming malnourished. To counter-balance this, butchering megahares yields patchleather and insect meat. This change removed megahare meat, thereby making the game freak out if you had meals containing said meat. I chose to create a separate mod so as not to piss off my five subscribers.
Original text:
I made neither of the aforementioned mods; all I did was create this mod which adds giant rabbits (scaled up hares from vanilla. I am no art gud). I always found caravanning so slow and frustrating, even after downloading Giddy-Up! mods, so I made these rabbits for riding. They have the fastest move speed in Vanilla Rimworld, but have a large appetite compared to their (real) body size. They weren't meant to be used for anything else but riding, so their body size in the .xml file is small to nerf their meat yield. This may result in you being required to make an exception in Giddy-Up's options to enable riding them.
Is there another mod that does exactly this? I'unno. Maybe. Probably. I didn't look. I made this mod for me, but remember the days of searching for JUST the exact, perfect, absolutely right mod to suit my needs, so if this is that mod for even one other person, I have no regrets. Use Rustic Fox's guide to modifying mods if you wish to further balance this mod to your liking:

BE WARNED: since these hares are so fast, once tamed, slower pawns may have difficulty keeping up with them when attempting to train them. I still haven't found a way around that >.>;
