A set of tribal level implant designed as tattoos. This mod doesn't add actually visible tattoos.
After researching them, you can created tattoos by mixing dyes with hops, psychoid and smoke leaves at the Tattoo Workbench. The crafting and tattooing processes both rely on artistic (Tattooing still requires someone who can doctor).
You can apply one tattoo on each arms, legs, torso and head. They are incompatible with prosthetics/bionics and count as body modifications for body modder/purist. To remove a tattoo you need to research Tattoos Removal.
They are pretty cheap, being tribal and all, but they all have downsides that can stack up pretty quickly. A pawn with 5 tattoos of speed will attack twice as fast, but will also bleed out more than twice as fast. So using a variety of tattoos is generally optimal unless you have a way to mitigate the stacking penalties.
Special tattoos require unique material instead of dye and can only be applied to a specific body part.

Recommendation
I recommend using Nice Bill Tab or Dubs Mint Menus to see the tattoos stats more easily in the crafting menu.
On a pawn with no tattoo or prostetic, each type of Tattoo item in the map will create 6 surgery bills in the menu (1 for each available body part per tattoo item), it will flood the menu fast so searching with Dubs Mint Menus can help, but the best is using Nice Health Tab which let you click on the body part directly and only show its surgeries. The alternative would be to limit which body part accept what tattoo (For example, speed on legs only). So unless people start requesting that change, try to only craft the kits you need or use the mods above.
"Balance?"
Since they are cheap to craft and low tech, I gave them various general penalties that will eventually hurt if stacked. I cannot make them cross-mod proof but I don't mind if some of the penalties are negated by high tech implants or archite genes. If something still feels too out of line/extreme, leave a comment.
"CE?"
I do not use CE but I tried to patch them relatively to the vanilla traits/genes changes they did. Leave a comment if something feels weird.
"HAR?"
I do not use HAR but I tested with the Ratkins and it worked fine.
"Can you add X?"
It would need to be doable with only basic XML, no script, and different enough from all of the other tattoos.
"What next?"
Outside of adding more special tattoos and trying to improve the bench's texture, I wish I could remove the doctoring requirement for applying tattoo, but AFAIK that require scripting and I can't.

Which I used to learn how to do this mod.
