The Flesh

[i]Ever felt like fleshbeasts weren't much more than a nuisance?[/i] [b]The Flesh[/b] is a mod that intends to make fleshbeasts more dangerous, on top of adding new fleshbeast variants, incidents, and items. On top of the new content, existing fleshbeasts have gotten slight buffs, primarily gaining small amounts of resistances and armor (they're still weak to what you would expect them to, like fire). The goal of this mod is to make the fleshbeasts generally harder to fight, but not super-buffing them either. The new entities are balanced around existing fleshbeasts, however you'll want to be better prepared than normal for fleshbeast attacks or pit gates. stock up on medicine! [hr] The biggest change is the new parastic infection primarily carried by fleshbeasts [img]https://imgur.com/jo5wKh3.png[/img] Twisted Mechanites are malformed colonies of mechanites altered by horaxian influence. Unlike other mechanite infections, these ones are engineered to reorganize biological creatures and [b]reshape[/b] them into horrible [b]newborn[/b] fleshbeasts. They can be relatively easy to tend, and given time immunities can save people from becoming these monsters. However, caution has to be taken around fleshbeasts, as carriers of Twisted Mechanites can spread the infection when coming in direct contact (melee). If cornered by fleshbeasts, the severity of the infection can rapidly increase, leading to unwanted ... reshaping. Once the infection reaches the "Reshaping" stage is when carriers become a danger. If treatment is not possible, neutralization is recommended before the infection reaches a critical stage. [hr] Not all hope is lost, however. cultists who find themselves more aligned with Horax can discover a new psychic ritual, where those found in favor can be purged of the twisted mechanites. Religious or not, research can also be conducted (upon specific discovery) of a pill capable of also purging not only twisted mechanites but any mechanite infection, albeit with side effects. Further study into fleshbeasts and the twisted mechanites will also open the way to a couple of new serums and implants that reverse-engineer mechanites for the benefit of the carrier user. You won't directly be engaging against the flesh alone, however. Starway has sent their Plasmid Division planetside to investigate these reports of strange anomalies as a faction you can interact with. [b]Mod Settings[/b] also let you customize parts of the mod, particularly if you want to tweak the rate of transmission of mechanites. [hr] Compatibility - Currently not compatible with Combat Extended until a patch has been made for this mod. Tested with a rather large modlist, however there are a lot of mods on the workshop.
