the EW-12A replaced the volatile EW-11s being the first jet fighter aircraft to see combat within the Aldene air force. compared to its predecessor the EW-12 had higher top speeds, an improved avionics suite and whilst less manoeuvrable the EW-12 exhibited much more controllable handling.
a complement of 18 basic light radar missiles gave the EW-12 the ability to fight large volumes of enemies, however the poor handling and a low fuel capacity meant that prolonged engagements often resulted in the loss of the aircraft prompting the development of improved air frames and resulting in the EW-12s eventual retirement from service.
whilst incapable of prolonging dogfights against enemy jets however the EW-12 saw extended use as a strike aircraft with its high payload making it invaluable as a ground pounder capable of shattering enemy tank formations, this utility being the primary cause of its long service life
