EW-15 fighter jet

following the failed development efforts to separate the fighter and strike capacities of the Alden air force into the EW-14 and EW-13 respectively it was agreed that larger multi-role aircraft with the stability of the EW-12 were needed. the EW-15 was the first aircraft to fill this role replacing the struggling EW-12 which had long outlived its service life. boasting an increased top speed, better manoeuvrability and a fuel capacity over 3 times the size of its predecessor. combat capability was also improved with a payload of 20 missiles and 2 light auto cannons, allowing the EW-12 to engage targets at range for long periods of time. the EW-15 also differed from its predecessor being the first aircraft in the air force to see active combat using a canard front wing from which it afforded its much improved manoeuvrability. the EW-15 enjoyed a long service life with massively reduced pilot casualties compared too its predecessors and is still acknowledged as being one of the most aerobatic combat jets ever employed by the Aldene air force, however demands for higher top speeds and less antique avionics systems resulted in its gradual replacement by the EW-16
