Nutrition Makes Sense
Nutrition Makes Sense rebuilds how hunger, food, and weight work so maintaining yourself feels more intuitive in normal play.
In vanilla, staying on top of weight usually means monitoring calories and checking body weight. NMS was made to reduce that kind of number-watching by giving the player earlier, more useful feedback through ordinary gameplay.
Food values have also been adjusted across around 600 vanilla items to have more realistic nutritional values.
Weight changes are also less wobbly and more grounded in sustained eating patterns. The goal is not to make nutrition harsher. It is to make it more readable, more responsive, and easier to manage without turning it into a numbers chore.
What changes

Hunger reflects energy state
If you're not eating enough, hunger starts to show it earlier, instead of leaving weight change as the main thing to monitor.

Food values are rebuilt
Satiety, calories, and macros are authored per item based on the actual food. You do not need to lean on a few outlier foods just to maintain yourself.

Weight follows sustained patterns
Missing one meal will not meaningfully change your weight. Repeated overeating or undereating will.

Deprivation takes sustained neglect
Ordinary inconsistency will not wreck you. Serious deprivation only sets in if you stay underfed for too long, at which point stamina recovery slows, fatigue rises, and melee damage starts to fall.

Protein matters too
Protein is tracked across multiple days. Going too long without decent protein intake slows healing.

What you see

Reworked food tooltips with simple readouts for satiety, energy density, and dominant macro.

A malnourished moodle when nutritional deprivation starts kicking in.

Health panel entries showing active penalties from deprivation or protein deficiency, and whether things are getting better or worse.

Weight trend with exact number shown on the character screen.
