This structure is an attempt to recreate Spidertron from Factorio in Stormworks.
It is, so to speak, the “Pro” version of my previous build, "[url=https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3640844587] Spidertron Lite [/url]".
This clumsy and unoptimized machine was created because it is quite difficult in this game to create sufficiently strong and compact rotary and linear drives that could withstand the loads required for an Octopod. (even with the current triple mounts, these joints are far from ideal. Try turning on the maximum cycle speed to see this).
In its current state, this machine can only move more or less correctly on flat surfaces, as there are virtually no adaptive movement algorithms here.
You are free to change some settings in the microcontrollers to achieve a more efficient leg movement cycle. This version uses the same microcontrollers as the Lite version, which means that in theory you can create your own model of a radially symmetrical Octopod using the same modules.
This is one of the first structures I am posting in the workshop, and one of the first I created in this game in general, so if I did something wrong (in the design of the work or anything else), please do not judge me too harshly.
