Aside from great starting conditions and the max amount of settlers, you will have new settlers join on regular intervals (around two weeks). These can be turned away if you are not prepared to care for them. Ship chunks fall regularly in order to keep you steadily supplied with iron and components. In addition, you will have farm animals wander in and herds migrate nearby in order to help with food demand. There will be no Volcanic Winter, Crop Blight, or Deep Drill Infestations (other negative incidents are still possible). Even with all these boons and safeguards in you're favor, you will face the unrelenting challenge of sustaining large colonies. This scenario was created to show that survival isn't easier with more, it just becomes more complicated. I highly recommend stack increase mods such as Stack XXL or Increased Stack as the default is simply not viable for large scale communities. I also typically use a Turret expanding mod in order to increase automated defense due to the inevitable need to expand to multiple colonies.
