History
In 1952 a ship building company called S&O made a tour boat for the river thames. But in 1968 the ship was bought out of scrapping by G&M. In 1978 G&M refitted the boat to have a longer deck but this had a fatal flaw, The deck was to long to look at the front of the boat. And 1982 in tragedy struck. The boat was bought by Yolanda High for a picnic on another island. The boat was one of 8 bought out. On the 9th of July 1982, 38 kids, 2 teachers and 2 crew where on the boat. On 2pm a explosion was heard, The bow rivets exploded off and the hull was filling with water. With no lifeboats or floats. Everyone was doomed, in the first minute the boat flipped on its side trapping the kids and teachers while the crew escaped. After everything 28 kids drowned 5 were severly injured and only 9 people survived. After investigation it was found out the boat struck a mine, but the crew didnt see because of the deck. In 1983 G&M was sued for 30 million dollars. In 1992 the boat was resurfced and scrapped.
