A micro-mod which simply alters the tree draw layer so items/chunks/pawns are not drawn in front of it. It should work with most tree-adding mods.
The vanilla draw order is a gameplay > aesthetic design, ensuring that the player will normally be able to spot items/chunks/pawns even in densely wooded areas.
Known issues
There isn't a perfect solution to draw order due to Rimworld's limited graphical scope. For example, very tall buildings (like the radio tower from [url=https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2561619583]Fortifications[/url]) will draw [i]behind[/i] trees even if placed in front.
Ultimately, it's a trade off on which draw order will look better based on your playstyle and mod loadout.
