In the 1920s, the SNR required a massive engine to haul big goods trains as double and triple heading C2s and C3s was proving very inefficient. What was created to solve the issue was a titan simply known as "Big Emma". Needless to say, they were extremely powerful. While plans were made to make more garratts like them, they fell through due to outside circumstances.
