Gunfire Causes Hearing Loss [Reworked & Latest ver]
This mod offers a realistic way to gain hearing loss, through exposure to gunfire.
HOW IT WORKS
The mod tracks your exposure to gunshots over time.
Repeated gunfire in a short amount of time can result in a TTS (Temporary Threshold Shift) aka Hard of Hearing. Long-term use of firearms can result in a PTS (Permanent Threshold Shift) aka Deafness.
Fire too many shots in a single hour and you might suffer TTS. Shooting in confined spaces will also result in higher strain on your eardrums. TTS doesn't last too long, only a few hours.
But don't worry! You can easily avoid this by wearing ear protection (Ear Muffs & Ear Protectors). When worn, they negate the damage by 85%.
Hearing damage is not entirely permanent, your ears will gradually recover over time. However, repeated exposure without proper protection can still lead to lasting consequences.
PTS WARNINGS: Tinnitus and Pulsatile Tinnitus
There are sound cues based on how damaged your ears are.
