HMGS Royal

HMGS Royal was built and designed by the Eire Co in 1905. The ship would be laid down in 1902 construction would take three years being launched in 1905. She would be fitted with 16 14-inch naval rifles, eight-inch side guns, 75mm flak guns, and Le 50 Caliber guns. The ship would also be equipped with four Crosetti Turbines propelling the ship at 26 knots. She would be commissioned in 1906 and soon she would gain a reputation as a fast and formidable ship; moreover many of her crew boasted her size and firepower. She would be the pride of the Royal Grenland Navy. During the Great War she participated in many battles such as the Battle of the Nordland Straight, North Sea, and Golden Ocean. Her most famous battles she took part in were the battle of the Nordland Straight and Golden Ocean. During the Nordland Straight she was the last surviving ship of the combined fleet, but she endured massive amounts of damage. Her number 3 turret was completely destroyed and her main mast collapsed. After the battle she was put in dry dock for two years on June 22, 1915 she was back in service. She was quickly transferred to Admiral Keatons Grand Fleet in the Golden Sea, where she would see extensive use against Tanfeld and Vaugran forces. During this time she would see one of her last major battles, The Battle of the Golden Sea. During the battle she would sink Tanfeld battleship SMTS Sparrow and Vaugran battlecruiser SMVS Wulfrick. After the battle she would go on and save the crew of battleship HMGS King McCullin IV. After the end of the war she was sent home and was swiftly decommissioned and put up for sale. She would be sold to Orangia and she would be renamed to the ONS Orangia. There she would be used as the flagship of the Grand Orangian Fleet. But soon tensions rose between Orangia and Celesten war broke out. So the Orangia sat in the Orangia Bay keeping away any enemy ship that came close. But on March 24, 1924 swarms of torpedo boats surrounded her launching deadly attacks. 14 torpedoes struck her port side; she then soon started listing 12 degrees to port. Her crew desperately tried to save but it was too late, she was flooding rapidly and her power was shutting down. At 22:24 she finally rolled over in the bay sinking into a shallow grave.
