You wake up very slowly on the ground. Looking around, you see no one else around, just some gear scattered on the ground by you and a building in the distance. As you try to gather your thoughts, nothing comes up. Who am I? Where am I? Then the slightest thought... your name. Then it all goes black.
Some time later, you wake back up. Your brain seems to be running a little bit better now. The last thing you remember is lying down in your immersion rig to test a new game, Project Dragonfly. You placed the headset on, it locked into place and you turned it on. The startup logos cycled through, then the disclaimer was visible. You almost ignore it, but something sticks out. The last line: "This is not a game. There is no log out. This is your new life. Welcome to Rimworld."
Before you can think about canceling the login process, it's gone and everything goes black.
