Unlike most engines who worked on the SNR, Ari wasn't built for the SNR but was instead purchased from another railway. Upon being purchased, Ari would make the journey from her old railway to the SNR under her own power. She would be designated as the station pilot for the fishing village, but was also seen commonly at North Harbor pulling trains or helping "The Sawyer Battery" with shunting duties.
