You didn't do it, and you swore on your life - However much that is worth now. But the courts were convinced: The evidence against you was pretty damning, and the real culprit selfishly killed himself before the truth of your own innocence could come to light. With nothing left but your own existence, you were sentenced to a penal colony, place on one of three convoy ships en route to the moon of a distant world. That is, until the ships suddenly got caught in a meteor storm, damaging them severely and commencing the countdown to their inevitable destruction. While a number of prisoners began rioting, it wound up becoming every man for themselves, and one by one, the prisoners filled up the one-man escape pods and launched them into orbit of the Rimworld beneath them... except your own. Your escape pod was hit by something, perhaps a piece of debris from one of the convoys - You could have sworn something blew up, after all - Knocking the pod into the stratosphere and beginning your decent. Alone, you find yourself to be the only to have crash landed, as the other prisoners either slowly descend closer to the planet or likely scatter across the world, doing what they wish. Now then, what do you wish to do, now that it appears your new life has begun.
Pods will crash near your colony periodically to make up for limited resources. Will you recruit them, enslave them, imprison them, worse? Will you live a more simple life, or one as free as you desire?
Your faction will be a New Arrivals.
