A rewrite of the classic androids mod, using biotech and VRE Androids instead of HAR.

Current features:

Droids

Droids are Tier 0 colonists. They are more flexible than mechanoids, being able to perform most work types, but comes with a workspeed penalty. They come with a rechargeable battery and built in neutromine regeneration

Basic

A cheap and easily accessible robotic colonist, decently skilled for most work types, but has slow labor speed

  • Skill 8 for all stats
  • 60% workspeed

Advanced

A more advanced Tier 1 robotic colonist, higher skill levels and faster labor speed than the basic variant

  • Skill 10 for all stats
  • 80% workspeed
  • Requires Basic Mechtech

Battle droids

Combat specialized droids

  • Line: A battle droid used as cheap front line fighters.
  • Skirmisher: A battle droid specialized in hit and run tactics.
  • Juggernaut: A heavily armored battle droid designed to smash through enemy lines.
  • Requires Basic Mechtech

Note: droid textures are not done yet, placeholders from https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2902258418. Droids are perfectly functional without it, they will simply appear as normal humans

Synthetics

Synthetics are Tier 3 colonists, with access to powerful hardware options. While expensive, they have a significantly higher performance ceiling compared to androids and regular colonists
Requires High Mechtech

Synthesis Pod

Turn your weak fleshy colonists into powerful machines with the certainty of plasteel. Also allows swapping of races with HAR installed.
Requires Ultra Mechtech

Hardware 'Genes'

Unlike subroutines, Hardware doesn't impact efficiency, instead requiring an upfront cost when printing the robot

  • Power: A set of hardware related to rechargeable robots
  • Work: Specialized hardware tweaks for specific work types
  • Stat: A set of hardware that improves various other stats

Rechargeable robots

Added a set of hardware components that enables robots to recharge at an assigned android stand. Enabled by default for all droids.

Changes to VRE:Androids

-Androids are moved to Tier 2, locked behind Standard Mechtech
-Androids now die when they are killed (Androids wont continue to be alive when their torso is at 0 health)
-Androids are now psylinkable
-Androids won't enter reformatting mode while drafted
-Androids at zero free memory will incur a consciousness penalty
-Memory reformatting state can be cancelled at any time, with a penalty
-Android stands now doubles as rechargers

CE compatible

-Repair Gantry building: Used to repair damage and replace minor missing parts like fingers & toes
