Using Soybeans either built into this mod or from [url=https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2158539170]Vanilla Cooking Expanded - Sushi[/url], we've created an alternative meat solution, officially recommended by Sarg Bjornson himself! Thank you for the shout out!
Additionally, no longer requires [url=https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2158539170]Vanilla Cooking Expanded - Sushi[/url] or [url=https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1914064942]Vanilla Fishing Expanded[/url]! With permission, soybeans and their plant will be accessible even without using Sushi.

No research required! Right from the get-go, grow some soybeans and make your tofu, by default a meat item, usable in any recipe (even if it may not make sense!) that allows meat.

[b]NEW![/b] Use [url=https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2574315206]XML Extensions[/url] to choose whether you want tofu to count as a meat, vegetable, or both (restart required). When set as a vegetable, your vegetarians won't mind eating tofu!
Click More Mod Settings right below Mod Settings, VFME - Simply Simple Tofu on the left, choose your playstyle, restart, and you're ready!

Q: Is this mod cheaty?
A: Yes and no. We want to remain as vanilla-friendly as possible, while adding the option to expand your protein options with real-world solutions. For balance purposes, tofu takes a decent amount of work to make.
Q: Is this mod complete?
A: Absolutely. We made tofu over a year ago, split it off for just the tofu, added some mod settings to make vegetarians happy, and are done with it.
Q: Save game compatible?
A: Safe to add, [b][i]not safe[/i][/b] to remove unless you have no tofu and no meals made with tofu.
Q: Compatible with Simple Tofu?
A: Nope. Simple Tofu will be receiving similar mod settings Soon™. This mod exists if you [i]only[/i] want tofu, directly from soybeans, without the rest of the other mod.
