Armor Makes Sense

Multiplayer compatible. Safe to add to existing saves. Armor Makes Sense replaces vanilla armor discomfort with realistic physical costs: endurance drain, heat buildup, breathing restriction, muscle strain, and worse sleep recovery. No stress penalties. Just physics. Why This Exists I spent days grinding blacksmithing to craft full plate armor. When I finally equipped it, the game punished me with discomfort and stress. My character was miserable. That felt wrong. Armor should cost stamina, mobility, heat, and fatigue, not sanity. So I replaced the system. What This Mod Does Armor Makes Sense removes vanilla's psychological discomfort and replaces it with physical costs. Protective gear now drains endurance, strains muscles, restricts breathing, traps heat, and slows recovery through existing vanilla systems. Despite the name, this is not just an armor tweak. To make the system behave consistently, I had to treat clothing as a whole ecosystem. The name stuck. Features

Discomfort removed Vanilla's discomfort modifier is set to zero on all wearable items. Armor no longer causes stress.
Speed rebalance Run speed and combat speed modifiers are reassigned by body region. Leg armor affects running. Arm and shoulder armor affect combat speed. Light pads stay neutral.
Endurance drain Heavier armor increases endurance usage during movement and combat. Walking is almost free. Sprinting in full plate is not.
Thermal pressure Armor traps heat. In hot weather you overheat faster. In cold weather, insulating armor helps.
Breathing restriction Gas masks and respirators reduce airflow. The penalty scales with exertion: negligible at rest, noticeable under heavy effort.
Muscle strain Heavy arm and shoulder protection adds fatigue per swing. A chest plate does not slow your swing, but gauntlets and shoulder pads do. Better-crafted armor restricts less than crude scrap.
Sleep recovery Sleeping in rigid armor slows fatigue recovery. It is an emergency choice, not a default.
Layering overhaul Vanilla limits some combinations in ways that do not make much sense. This mod re-slots 79 items across 8 custom body locations so layering works more naturally.
