[*] This mod adds a quest to the game which spawns a Toxic Fissure near your base. My main idea was to create more reasons to leave your base. This one is really pressing. If you ignore it, it will eat up your base. Heavily inspired by the unfortunately discontinued mod "Yayo's Pollution"
[*] The toxic fissure will pollute the world around it. Once it reaches a player map, it will then also pollute the local map
[*] To destroy it, you need to go to the quest map and use explosives (explosive damage)
[*] The fissure attracted some insectoids which thrive in the toxic gases
[*] When destroying the fissure, all pollution in its range will vanish immediately (might change this in the future to happen more slowly, but this was the least performance intensive way)
[*] You can freely configure how much time it takes for the first fissure to spawn and how much time for subsequent ones. Likewise you may configure how quickly the pollution spreads and whether the insectoids should be scaled
[*] Right now it is hardcoded that fissures will spawn in a distance of 6-14 world tiles away from your base. Might make this configurable in the future
[*] Unless pollution somehow affects existing settlements already (which I dont know for sure), the mod will not destroy any enemy or allied settlement, nor outpost from vanilla outposts expanded.
