Advanced Trapping Overhaul This is the fourth mod I’ve created and uploaded recently, and out of all of them, this is the one I’m most proud of. This mod was heavily inspired by Trap Everything by RiversideHibbard. It’s an amazing concept, but it hasn’t been updated in quite some time. I completely understand that people have lives and can’t always maintain their mods, so instead of continuing to ask for updates, I decided to take on the challenge myself and build something similar from the ground up. This mod took a lot of time, patience, and trial and error, but I finally got it working for Build 42.15+. One of the biggest changes compared to older trapping systems is that animals are now caught alive instead of dead. This allows you to actually bring animals back to your base or keep them nearby without needing to travel long distances to farms or specific locations. You can catch both male and female animals, though there were some limitations during development. Due to how the code behaves, the only baby animals currently supported are baby cows. Adult cows presented some technical issues, so baby cows became the stable middle ground for now. All other animals can be caught normally without restriction. Another major difference from the original concept is that traps are no longer limited by time or location. You can catch animals anywhere and at any time of day. There’s no need to place traps in specific zones or wait for certain hours—just set them up and let them work. I also want to point out that the bait system wasn’t chosen randomly. The foods each animal responds to are based on real-life diets and what those animals would naturally be attracted to or safely eat. I tried to match each species with fruits, vegetables, and foods that make sense in a realistic context, so the system feels grounded rather than arbitrary. I highly recommend using this mod alongside Neptune’s Nearby Traps. It makes the experience much smoother by allowing traps to function closer to your base. While traps will still work best with a bit of distance, this combination gives you much more flexibility and makes the system feel far less restrictive. --- This mod allows you to trap the following animals: * Rabbits * Cow calves * Deer * Sheep * Turkeys * Chickens * Pigs Each animal responds to specific bait types: Rabbits = Wheat Sheaf, Lettuce, Carrots Cow Calves = Barley Sheaf, Rye Sheaf Deer = Acorn, Soybeans, Spinach Sheep = Strewberrie, BerryBlue, Watermelon, GrassTuft Turkeys = Pumpkin, Worm, Cabbage Chickens = Corn, SunflowerSeeds, Broccoli Pigs = Potato and SweetPotato All bait options are set to work consistently, making trapping reliable while still requiring the correct setup. --- Compatibility & Feedback Most mods should be compatible with this one. However, if you run into any issues or conflicts, please let me know and I’ll do my best to fix them.
