Disaster Missions [ALPHA]
Dynamic Rescue Missions & Random Disasters
Alpha Release – Bugs and rough edges are expected. Feedback welcome!
Disaster Missions is a Stormworks addon that spawns dynamic rescue missions around the map, accompanied by random natural disasters. This is my first addon – I'm primarily a vehicle builder, not a scripter – so please bear with me if things aren't perfectly polished yet. I'm releasing this early to get feedback and see whether the concept works well in practice.
The current alpha includes one mission type: submarine resurfacing. A submarine has lost power or was damaged and is sinking. Find it, bring it back to the surface, and seat the crew in the surfaced submarine.
The missions feature the Manatee – a compact exploration and SAR submarine. And the Qualle – a versatile mini submarine.
Features
- Submarine rescue missions with randomized locations across the map
- Random disasters – tornado, tsunami, or volcano – that may spawn when you arrive
- Crew rescue with individual bonus rewards per seated crew member
- Fires, onboard explosions, and strobe-lit survivors
- Mission timer that pauses while you're on site
- Chance for follow-up disaster threats on mission completion
- Chat commands to spawn missions and disasters manually
Chat Commands
- ?newMission – spawn a random mission
- ?missions – list active Disaster Missions
- ?clearMissions – despawn all Disaster Missions (admin)
- ?disaster – spawn a random disaster at your position (admin)
- ?help – list all commands
Notes
- This is an alpha. There will be bugs. Please report them in the comments.
- More mission types and locations are planned if the feedback is good.
- Tested in singleplayer; multiplayer should work but is less tested.
If something is broken or feels off, leave a comment – I'm actively working on this and want to make it better.
