HSwMS Gotland | Swedish Attack Submarine

HSwMS Gotland | Gotland Class Submarine
Class Overview The Gotland class submarines were designed and built by Saab during the 1990s with two special Stirling engines helping HMS Gotland become invisible in the water. Being able two stay underwater for weeks thanks to the AIP system makes it a dangerous force and a foe worth looking out for. Most famous for firing torpedoes at a US carrier strike force in a military excercise has made it stand out against other diesel electric submarines and peaked interest from around the world. I did my best replicating this in stormworks with some exceptions.
Specifications Length: 57m Width: 5.75m Height: 11m (Tower: 4.25m) Cruising speed: 15 kts Top Speed: 24 kts (very loud) Submarine Layout And Systems
Control Room Navigation Systems: Tactical map, Proximity sensors, Wheater station, GPS map, Autopilot, Radio equipment and locator. Manuever Systems: Depth Hold, Ballast stabilization pitch/roll, Fins stabilization, Trim pitch/roll, Manual ballst Blow/Flood, Manual manuever controls and turbo mode. Weapon Systems: Torpedo And Missile operator, Acrive and Passive sonar, Phalanax Radar, Sonar decoys and warning signals. Emergency Systems: Diving suit, Lockable doors, Bilge Pumps. Upper Deck Crews quarters with space for 8 crew and additional equipment. A small Utilty/Kitchen space for various tasks. Upper Utility Space and a crew tunnel connecting the engine rooms with the main hull housing some equipment and pressure gauges. Lower Deck Torpedo Room: The torpedo room has 4 loaded/ 4 unloaded advanced torpedoes and 2 decoy torpedoes. Manual reloading with options to fire from the torpedo room or ready tubes for the control room. The rest of the lower deck has servers, A storage room and the Captain's quarters. Engine Rooms AIP systems: The Air Independent Engines are unfortunatly not stirling engines but modular engines ran on stored air, lasts very long but quite loud. Generator Room: Houses the 4 large generator and additional batteries with the fuel tank beneath. Main engine room: Two large diesel engines running at ~50% efficiency when running with snorkel since the other air intake sits on deck. The large electric engine is running in the back of the boat accesible by a small utility tunnel. To start moving, go to the driver seat and set the electric throttle or main engine clutch to the desired value. The main engines only work above the waterline, and only at 50% power when using the snorkel. The AIP engines are located next to the generator room and are pretty ineffective. To steer, just press A/D or use the autopilot. The diving controller is not perfect and your depth may not be exact, but it is easily adjustable. The ballast and fin stabilizers are important as well, but be careful when using ballast stabilizers while moving and diving, as they might work against each other and make the sub list badly. If the sub has too much or not enough boyancy, use the flood/drain all ballast and only use stabilizers while stationary! Otherwise, it is a pretty easy sub to operate and I have had plenty of fun in creative. It is very possible to only hunt in first person, although it can be pretty challenging. The torpedoes are launched with the press of a button, with semi-automatic reloading. Just remember to press it once and wait for it to finish (around 15 seconds). Sometimes the reloading fails when attaching the torpedo to the hardpoint, in which case you need to nudge it a little bit and it should be fine. This sub was primarily made for having fun in creative and might be pretty heavy on mid- to low-end PCs, so I recommend low physics.
Note! Building a big sub is apparently very hard and if you run in to an issue dont hesitate to comment and ill try and get it fixed. If the Submarine lists, Turn on stabilizers! Otherwise enjoy and have fun! Credits microcontrollers: Ship Collision Warning System Modular Map Main Module Submarine Vertical Navigation Display Interactive Map Enviroment And Wheater other: TIBU Furniture XML PACK
