Overview
This tug boat is equipped with a wide range of advanced systems and technology, making it far more capable than an ordinary vessel of its type. Despite being classified as a tug boat, it includes multiple specialized engines, navigation systems, and emergency features designed for heavy-duty operations.
Engine Systems
The vessel is powered by two medium engines that function as the primary Driver Engines, responsible for normal propulsion and maneuvering.
In addition, the boat is equipped with a large Towing Engine. This engine is connected to a specialized heavy-duty gearbox designed specifically for towing extremely heavy loads. While this configuration significantly reduces the vessel’s speed, it provides exceptional towing power.
Both the Driver Engines and the Towing Engine can also be used to generate electricity. This system allows the engines to convert mechanical power into electrical energy, even while the vessel is moving. However, using this feature during towing operations is not recommended due to the high power demand required for towing.
Maneuvering Systems
To improve maneuverability, the tug boat is equipped with bow thrusters. These thrusters allow the vessel to move sideways (port and starboard) without needing to turn the entire boat, making docking and precise positioning significantly easier.
Navigation Systems
The tug boat includes a reliable radar system as well as a sonar system.
These systems are controlled from the left side of the driver’s helm. Between the front window and the right-side window, there is a button labeled “Radar.” Pressing this button will deploy the radar and sonar units from the roof of the vessel.
These systems assist with navigation, obstacle detection, and situational awareness while operating in various conditions.
Communication Systems
The vessel is equipped with a radio communication system.
To use the radio, simply enter the desired channel number on the keypad located on the right side of the driver’s helm. This allows communication with other operators using the same channel within a 20 km range.
For short-range communication, the tug boat also features a large external loudspeaker mounted on top of the vessel. This system can broadcast voice messages up to approximately 300 meters, depending on volume.

To ensure safe operation, the tug boat includes several automatic alarm systems designed to alert the crew when potential issues arise.
