Transpennine Express Class 802 Bi-mode Multiple
~~BACKROUND~~
The British Rail Class 802 units operated by TransPennine Express were introduced from 2019 as part of a major fleet upgrade. Built by Hitachi Rail, these bi-mode trains can run on both electric and diesel power, making them ideal for partially electrified routes across northern England and into Scotland.
They operate key services linking cities such as Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle and Edinburgh, offering 125 mph capability, increased capacity, and modern onboard features compared to the trains they replaced.
~~INSTRUCTIONS~~
Form you train, ensure you have two cabs at either end of your train. Once you have done this, enter either cab and turn on the master key. You will hear two alarms; don't panic, these are tests. Simply cancel them on the dashboard with "AWS Acknowledge" and "Train Fault Acknowledge". There is no fault, it is only the train letting you know that it is active. After doing this, set your headlights to the appropriate setting, set the reverser to forward and press and hold either "Diesel Engine Start" or "Pantograph Raise".
