NELMW standard medium tender
Hello once again! i recommend going to the page for the NELMW pacific, as that explains what the standards are, as well is most of what you would need to know.
Jumping right into the tender, this is the most standard of standard tender in the entire line of tenders. This is a medium tender, meant more the more mid sized locomotives, those being the Pacific, the Mountain, the Atlantic, the Mikado, the Santa Fe, as well as even the 2-6-6-2 and 2-4-4-2, as they are on the smaller side considering they are mallets. This does not pair with the larger 2-8-8-2, or the smaller switcher engines. This tender is not only the most universal tender size out of them all, being in the medium range, its the most standard boxy tender that you can get. This is the type of tender you see behind anything and everything, making it SO standard. The tender itself does not have any function, as it holds no water, and only hoppers are the ones at the top, and the one in the front indicating where the fireman gets the coal. I think it is possible to use the hopper in the front for the engine, but that's the only thing you will get out of ANY of the tenders. This tender, as with all tender, has 3 toggle buttons, for decoupling, marker lights, and rear light. Most of the tenders were built along size one of the locomotives, and this one was built with the pacific. This tender is an eight axle tender, and takes HEAVY inspiration from the tenders on the PRR, especially with the over hanging coal bunker, an the sharp curves.
That should be about it for this tender! see you for the next piece of rolling stock in the NELMW standardized collection!
